Mobile Return-to-Work COVID-19 Testing in Danbury, CT

Mobile Return-to-Work COVID-19 Testing in Danbury, CT

Companies in Connecticut are starting to go back to business as usual, with offices opening as Connecticut remains in Phase 2 of reopening for the foreseeable future. As employers look for ways to keep their employees safe from the ongoing pandemic, they can work with AFC Urgent Care Danbury to arrange for COVID-19 testing for employees on a return-to-work basis. With mobile testing capabilities, we are able to make sure your employees are healthy prior to returning to your office, store or job site.

Types of COVID-19 Testing for Return-to-Work Patients

There are two types of tests available to detect either the active coronavirus or its antibodies in patients as they prepare to return to the workplace. Diagnostic PCR Testing is performed with a gentle swab of the lower nasal cavity. The test can detect the active COVID-19 virus and can be performed on patients who are in need of confirmation that they are not currently infected with the virus or are no longer infected if they have previously been tested with a positive result. Patients who have previously tested positive for COVID-19 must be symptom-free for at least three days before taking another test and at least fourteen days must have passed since the last positive test. Results are available in 1-3 days depending on the current capacity of our on-site laboratory. Coronavirus antibody testing detects past infection with COVID-19 through the presence of antibodies, an immune response to a virus. Testing is performed by taking a blood draw. Antibody testing can only be performed on patients who are not currently exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, including nausea, headaches, fever and body aches. Because antibody testing is only administered to asymptomatic patients, results can indicate whether you have been exposed to the virus and have antibodies or if the patient has not been exposed to the virus and therefore does not have antibodies. Antibody test results are available in 1-3 days.

AFC Urgent Care FAQs

  • Why choose AFC for Urgent Care?

With state-of-the-art centers and a professional medical team, AFC provides on-site X-rays, labs, procedures, and more!

  • What's the difference between AFC Urgent Care and emergency room services?

Urgent care is for medical conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate threat to your health or life. Here is a simple rule of thumb: if your medical issues(s) are life threatening, call 911, or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an urgent care center such as AFC is an excellent alternative.
