Urgent Care is on the rise. Experts say the major factors behind the surge in urgent center growth can be attributed to the declining number of primary care doctors coupled with the rise of the newly insured under the Affordable Care Act, of which Danbury participates, accepting all of the Connecticut Health Exchange plans and customer demand for more affordable medical services.
Tom Kelly, Managing Partner of Danbury and soon to come West Hartford, said in a recent article in the Danbury News Times:
“Our business model is not to be primary care providers. We have a great relationship with providers in the area who we refer our patients to. We help not only by solving our patients’ issues, but also by ushering them into the healthcare system. “
